A deal is a deal. My son presented me with his report card. All straight A's! I tried to get off easy and told him I he can have the GTI. He wasn't interested. He wants a Toyota truck. Found this on autotrader. The two of us are driving over to check it out. It's going to be an expensive month.

Just check the frame right by the gas tank and spring hangers, but looks really clean so you should have a good truck there!
Congrats to your son on the good grades and new truck!

Got the truck for 14K. Spent the day with him servicing the truck and detailing. He's pretty stoked. I'm officially broke....

Sounds like a lucky kid. Should be something fun for the both of you to enjoy though. Are there any rules about bad grades and the truck going away?

There are stipulations of course. He needs to maintain his grades and get his Eagle Scout. After his Eagle Scout, he needs to get a job. Since we close to school, he can't drive it to school.

Sweet! That is one lucky boy you've got there.. My first car was a 14 year old Civic with 235,000 miles on it :P

His truck has a tailgate lock. Very cool.

It sounds like you have a good plan. And a future Eagle Scout, good on ya.

The only dent on the truck is in the tailgate. That's my next project. Fix dent and repaint. He's keeping me busy..

nice set of goals there. definitely reachable and reasonable to boot!
as a son I would hate every one of those "goals" but in the end, having a truck of my dreams I think I would muster something up.
didn't know those Tacoma's kept its value.. crazy!

At the dealership they offered me 19K for my D-cab. I was floored!

the double cab TRD 01-04 are the most sought after truck in the market. Not surprised they offered you that much.
