Server Performance

Just wanted to hear back from y'all on how the performance is on the site. I recently started to notice a little lag getting onto the site initially but I'm not sure if that's just my internet at home or even my cell phone's crappy internet service.

Are you guys experiencing any performance related issues? Hopefully not! :)

I Concur every now and then there seems to be a slight hiccup but then its fine.
I do get an error on occasion when activity stream comes up, next time it comes up I'll try to grab a screen shot for you.

I'm not on all that much (trying to change that!), but I've not noticed any poor performance since we bumped up to the server package we're on.

You mean that thing taking up all the room in my garage? I thought over the winter I'd have all sorts of time to work on it - WRONG. Now that the weather in nice, I'm hoping to sneak out there a little bit and plug away at it. It's all fab stuff for the next phase, so at least it's fun and challenging (headers, oil pan, motor mounts).

Trying to save up for a TC Caddy front end, but my kids eat too much so I never have extra dough. Add the youth sports in and there goes my extra time too (plus plenty of $$ - really busy now, AAU hoops and multiple baseball teams for all 3 of my boys). I'm "retiring" from the local athletic association board where I've been president for the last 5 years, ran baseball for the last 6 years (roughly 30 teams per year) and have been running their website for the last 7 years. That will free up some time - it's been liberating handing things off knowing I won't be involved next year.

I haven't been totally out of 4x4's though - still have my semi-built Jeep GC (I know, total sacrilege)

Sorry for the life story - short answer, 1UZ isn't in yet but still in the works... :)

I manually added a mod to prevent those bots from jacking all of the bandwidth two days ago so I'm hoping the performance improves over the next few days as less and less bots are on the site.

This setup even when slow is still faster than the old forum at its best, so I haven't really noticed at all.

Server is super slow today. In the morning it was ok, but once I got back from work it's super slow.

we have a flood of spam bots hitting our site. I got the notification early this morning and have been working on resolving these bots.

Sadly, it is always slow for me. Absolutely nothing like the old sight. I never had any speed issues, but for me 99% of the time this is like a 56K internet connection. I literally clicked from the 2nd page of this thread to the 3rd page, then got up off the couch, opened the windows in the living room where I am, and sat back down and it was just opening the 3rd page.

I dont have any issues with any other internet features, and can stream netflix seamlessly, play PS3 online, etc. So it is not a local issue for my network. Whatever it is, it makes me sad.

EDIT: I timed this post actually posting from the time I hit "post reply" it took 49 seconds to refresh the page with my post.
Then when I hit the button to edit to add this info - from click to actually being able to edit was 21 seconds.

indeed it is! looks like the mods are working at the moment. hopefully the bots will give up and go away :)
