Got the new dates up for the 11th Annual Pismo Jamboree.

Awesome! Thanks for getting the site going and the self registration is going to save me soooo much time. I hope moving it up a week doesn't effect too many people. As many of you know, the regular jambo weekend falls on mine and April's anniversary weekend. April has been really cool with it for years, but has requested that since this will be our 10 year anniversary, that we have this year's jambo not fall on our anniversary. Hopefully it doesn't effect too many of our regular attendees, and I apologize if it does.

For those of you who are active on other forums, feel free to share the link and start threads. Let's make this the best jambo yet.

yeah it will be good to be back at pismo with everyone, my truck was down 6 months to the day, ive been driving it a lot and did a small pismo trip last weekend, but i still have alot of small stuff i would like to finish before the jamboree. your trailer build is looking good, cant wait to see the progress in person.

yeah still using my printer. going with a different tee though. in the past we used 100% cotton but this year i'm changing it up going with a blended tee which will be much softer feel making it more comfortable. :)

Not sure. I am working from 4 or 5 different lists. was going to compile one, but that didn't happen. I will send another round of pester emails on thurs or friday.

I got home this afternoon after emergency back surgery. I had had some stiffness and discomfort for a bit but Monday night most of my mid section was numb. After an MRI they decided they needed to do surgery right away. It was the last thing from my mind and it's still sort of sinking in.

I hope to be well enough to make the drive to the jamboree. If I'm able to get my wife to let me go I think I'm going to plant myself in a chair and not do a lot of jumps but we'll see. It's still on the calendar and I've got a lot of work to do but i hope to still make it.

Since I made a bike rack and removed my Yakima rack I lost a spot for a flag. I had made a strong and simple mount but now it needs to be redone as my cross bars are gone.

I sat and stared at the flag and what I had on the roof and came up with this.

I used a cheap HF coupler I had in the parts bin. It's nice and cheap and is steel so melting it to a tab is doable unlike the brass couplers. I made a tab that could mount on my expanded steel rack but would also work in just the factory roof rack rail if I wasn't running the rack. I think it turned out pretty good and is pretty solid.

As years pass my flag mount becomes more and more quick release. This time there are no tools needed and it is in fact quick release. Time: Cheap as I'm supposed to be parked on the couch. Money: Next to nothing considering I already had the parts and they weren't going to be used for their intended purpose.

Nice. Similar set up to what I did to my CBI bumper. All spare parts. I got the idea from a Jeep forum. I also used a male coupler & filled the other end with glue so the male is always in the main female end. I did that to keep the sand & dirt out when I'm not using the flag.

After creating what I thought was my masterpiece I searched online if others had done it. I found one company selling something similar but had all kinds of different options, none weld on though. Then I saw a guy that bolted a coupler to a piece of metal that bolted to the tow hook of a Raptor/F150.

I wanted to find someone else who welded one because I got lots of smoke which means I melted the seals which is fine since it won't be holding air. I wasn't sure if it was going to compromise the grip and if I'd lose my flag after some bumps.

Well, what I did was epoxy, then I screwed a small screw from the bottom into the shaft of the flag pole to "double-make-sure" it stays in. It's in there pretty tight. First time using it will be at Pismo.

I turned down the end of the flag mast so it was tapered and went all the way through the fitting. Filled it with JB weld and then trimmed the bottom. My flag is only about 4 feet tall, trimmed from when I got it, so it's not fighting the leverage of a full flag. Maybe In should do some test runs in the neighborhood to make sure it's good to go.

I am getting excited! Took the day off tomorrow, so I will be arriving mid-afternoon. Last time I was at Pismo they had just let me out of the trauma unit...now I can walk to the cooler and get my own beverage. :-)

I'm technically leaving the house at 7am so I should make it there in decent amount of time. Will be making A LOT of pit stops along the way so that'll definitely hamper the decent arrival time.

Brandon and a bunch of other guys are already there right now so we should be in good shape. Going to have a bunch of RV's this year lining up so it'll be rather exciting to see a bunch of peeps!
