Mustangs have never done much for me, but Ford has done some amazing things with their vehicles lately. We came really close to buying the redesigned Ford Fusion this year, and their quality, in my opinion, has surpassed Toyota. (That's a big statement for me, as I've always hated American cars.)
There's a new ecoboost engine available too.

I never knew there was a wagon concept but I've never been a Mustang follower. This popped up today because of the unveiling.

I want to like it so bad, but I don't. To me, it looks like the mid 90's mated with the last one. The greenhouse looks exactly like an Accord Coupe, and overall I feel it is just sort of bland. The front end looks nice, and I like the back end (most don't), but the bit in the middle looks kinda off. I am happy for a turbo 4 and IRS. The styling just doesn't do it for me. Maybe it will look better in person (I've heard that a few places, that the camera just doesn't capture the midsection very well).

I somewhat agree. Not so much that the mid section is off but more like the front and back don't mate well. Maybe it's because of the mid section. Dunno, this is about the most I've ever talked about a Mustang so I'll go to the noob corner, they have snacks.
I'll say in my experience the camera doesn't capture my mid section very well so I know where you're coming from.

Camera always captures my midsection correctly, which is the problem!
I'm not a huge mustang follower, but if I was shopping in the class, that would be my pick. I think it has been the best of the pony cars since the new Camaro came out (I really hate the styling on those...). I hope the IRS drives it into the hands of the more performance oriented crowd, not just the go-fast-in-a-straight-line guys, even though the solid rear axle had matured nicely in it's most recent iteration.
I will probably test drive one when they hit dealer lots. Unless the FRS/BRZ drops in with 250+ hp, I think I would prefer this instead. That is, if it isn't as ugly as the pictures make it out to be.

There was never a Ford that got me excited until I saw the late model Ford Mondeos in Italy. I wondered to myself "why don't we have those here?" Then we got the Fusion, which is fantastic. Coming from designs like this:

it is refreshing to see an American car company producing something we can be proud of.

Man, that was an awful car. Ex GF had one and it was such a POS.
I sat in the new Fusion at the RV show this year (strange place for it, but it was the plug in one). Most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. I would honestly buy it just for the seats.
Ford stuff seems to be so much better than GM, with the exception of Lincoln/Caddy.
Ford cars are light years ahead of GM, but Ford trucks unless it has a diesel and only the 7.3L and newer 6.7L PSD are worth it. The v8 is horrible, GM still has them beat with the 350 and now 5.3 and 6.0. Gm's diesel is also nice.
Friends mom has the ford 500, its a very nice car for the money. Personally I like ford cars better than the other 2 american makers by far. However the latest gen stang is the best looking one, this thing the frontend is horrible.
