So I have a squeal when the engine is cold but it usually goes away after 30-40 seconds. It could be just a belt but there are other squeaks and squawks coming from under the hood. My guess is idler and maybe some of the other pulleys need some lube and I just need to figure out which belt needs replacing. The desert out here is so dry and I'm sure lots of dirt and sand could cause problems over time.

Never done bearing maintenance really. I would guess you take the bearing apart and repack the bearing provided it's not sealed. Is there a good source for figuring out which bearings are and aren't sealed?

AC idler is really the only one that goes bad. It is sealed IIRC, and pretty low on the engine, hence it's high failure rate.

I gotta get some time for my engine to cool down lol. Seems every time I have a chance to start her up and really let it squeal I have been driving it within the last 45min. Thanks for the info. That gives me encouragement that it won't be replacing more bearings lol. Those tend to be expensive little buggers.

I had something similar going on recently. I pulled the belts and inspected the pulleys that the accessory belts run on. My chirp style noise would come and go but only while driving, not at start up. I never did find anything worn or out of spec. I did remove the AC pulley and found that it's most likely been replaced. There are a couple write ups online about this pulley and how to service the bearing and/or replace the bearing. My pulley has a captured sealed bearing instead of one held in with a c-clip. As such I could not service it. It was very clean and buttery smooth so I don't think it was my problem though. Needless to say the noise cured itself and I haven't heard it in awhile.
