I've always been kind of a liquor guy personally but recently I've been tasting different types of beer. Skip the main commercial beers although I still think PBR and Bud Light is ok when it's in the bottle and ice cold. My personal favorite so far is kind of a toss up between Hoegaarden (Belgian White Ale?) and Sam Adams Octoberfest.
So why the thread? Just because I have a beer in my hand taking a brake from packing the house up to move and there's a ton of beers out there to try.

I don't really have a favorite, just a long as it's cold. If I had a choice I'd skip over Corona, Stella and anything too fruity. Where we live most everything is available in certain stores so I always feel like I'm trying something new. I tried some 805 Beer from SloSurfer at Pismo and it was pretty good. I haven't seen it up here but I think that's the point. I did pass on his offer of Chelada, that's another one I can't stomach.

The Firestone 805 is really good stuff.

Anything dark and stout works for me. I usually pass on the light colored stuff. If it's free I don't question brand, I just smile and down it like a wannabe stud!

I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I'm with Lance. The darker the better. Guinness is one of my favorites.

I tried some of the dark stuff but guiness feels like a lead brick hit my stomach. I think middle of the road for color.
I would love to have some local breweies around here to try out but the closest thing I have is the yardhouse. Thats still an hour away too. Base doesn't have a bad selection though. I love the specialty liquors they have on hand.

A pint of Guinness does feel like you just ate a loaf of bread...
