New project....no more mods on the 4th gen for me!

Picked up a new project yesterday. 1985 4runner built for the desert!

It has a high output 302 from an 87 Mustang mated to a C4 auto trans. Has stock toy t-case with Advanced Adapter plate. Rear is spooled (fun yesterday at Ralphs parking lot!) with cromo axles, front is open with Longfields. Has Kings all around, Deaver springs, and King Hyd bump stops. Fully caged with a cromo cage and bed cage.

Plans are to dial it in for crawling....sliders, t-case gears and front locker, and repair the badly cut rear wheel wells.

I've always wanted to get a 1st gen 4runner for a toy when I get a job that would allow for it.

Sweet Toy! with you dialing it in for crawling, is it going to keep the desert runner stance?
I like the idea of the ford engine in it too, thats pretty bad a$$!!!

Not going to change it much...I like it! I am planning a front locker and transfer case gears in the future.

For now I am going to take care of some loose ends....replace broken core support, tune engine, replace fuel pump, and figure a way to fix rear fenders and seal bed area.

New distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs, alternator, tp sensor set, throttle body cleaned, and base idle set.....running as good as my yota!

Also put some fresh painy on the bumpers and axles...painted the steering arms gold in memory of "Goldmember"!

Got the badly cut wheel wells fixed today! Used a 3in wide piece of aluminum to straighten and stiffen the area, and Pacer fender flares....looks a lot better and no more sharp edges for the kiddos..
