I'm getting ready to redo the front of my '02 SR5. Right now, she's sitting on sagging stock springs with Daystar 2.5" spacers. An ARB is in my future, but not for a while. I've read people like the 882's but am wondering how tall the lift will be without the bumper and if it will be too much. Any first hand experience with these coils and how much lift they'll give without the bumper would be very helpful. Post up pics too!

I haven't seen many people run them (esp without a heavy bumper). If you're original ride height was 35", you should see about 2.25-2.5" of lift with those up front (they'll lift about 1" more than the 881's which alot of people have experience with) if you're keeping the stock front bumper in place for now.

So, if I've read correctly, the 881's yield ~1.5" or so over stock? That would mean the 882's yield ~2.5-3" or so?

We need to work on your math a bit.

881's yield ~1.5" or so over stock? Yes, they will yield 1.25-1.5" after they're broken in.

So if I add 1" to the ~1.5" or so what do I get? You get the range I gave above 882's (or about 2.5" of lift....3" with spacers maybe).

Thanks for the info Jamie. Since I have LC's in the back, I'm thinking the 882's would be too low with a bumper. Like you said though, I could always add a spacer.

I remember alot of people back in 2004-2005 trying out the 882's and very few people kept them very long after the Tundra setup was developed by Bamachem and SS. I'd have to say the same, you're best option would be the Tundra setup with the correct spacer for your needs. The only other option might be a set of adjustable coilovers where you can crank the height up and down (but they really don't do well in the rust belt because the threads get all buggered up.....although you could cover the entire assy with grease for protection).

What exactly are you looking for? Level with the rear bumper? Slight rake?

Since I've got LC's in the rear, I doubt there's any chance of getting my rig level. But, I'd like to get it as close as possible, so am looking for ~3" or so in the front to get close to the ~3.75" in the rear from the LC's. I've read about a few people doing the Tundra coils with 2 trim packers for ~3" in the front and some seem to be getting 3" or so from the 882's. Just doing a little research to see what people's opinions are. Thanks!
