Does anyone know how the antenna base is supposed to be removed? I have the pass. front fender hanging by the antenna base and cannot see how to disassemble it without cutting the cable :headscratch:....

Anyone have a suggestion?

Never-mind, I got it. The little chrome crown nut had sheared off inside the plastic trim thingy. It appeared to be ready to remove while still being fastened by the remaining piece of the crown nut. I wrestled with it and murmured weapons grade expletives to myself out of frustration intensified by the cool 102 deg temperature this afternoon....I need a nap.

It's held on by the drain nut on the gas tank :rofl:
