I needed a wheeling fix (especially after seeing how much Ric gets to go :flipoff: ) Went on one of the local trails with a couple guys from the local club. The trail can be fairly difficult if you don't have a locker (steep, loose, rutted, hill climbs with some boulders thrown in for good measure) and it has been getting better so hopefully they don't grade it anytime soon. It was me, a built cherokee (lifted, locked, geared), and a slightly built samurai (lift, rear locker, and 6.1 transfer case). There is one section that has a bypass and you can spend some time on a stairstep and some big boulders. Most of the pics are of the other rigs, but I should be getting some pics that the others took of me on the steps.

mini stair steps (not really mini, but mini compared to the real "stairsteps" on another local trail)

Probably easiest to view by watching the slideshow. Hopefully I will get some pics and video of myself from the others soon.

Ken, it is a fun trail. Although the brush is getting really tight in places, I got some more Pozo pinstriping. Compare the first pics of my 4runner and the very last pic. :tapedshut:

I just got back from clearing brush on this trail. You can now get pretty far without getting pinstriping. We cleared quite a bit, but not nearly the whole thing (it was almost 100F out there and we couldn't use chainsaws due to fire hazard). The Forest Service also just upgraded it from blue to black, which is good because that means that they probably won't be grading it. Most of the fun hard stuff is before you hit the tight brush. Just an FYI for those thinking of wheeling on the Central Coast. :flipoff:Also, the beginning part is going to be perfect for a night run and Sunday run for Pismo 4RJ

P.S. You will know when you hit the tight brush, you feel like you are in a shoe box. :flipoff:
