Not my 4Runner, but my brother's 4Runner just had the CEL, VSC and TRAC lights all come on. I told him to get the CEL read today. But just wondering, any of you ever run into this? I've never heard of the VSC or TRAC causing the CEL to trip. I'm thinking maybe it's 2 different issues?

if the connection at the ABS sensor is bad/loose/etc, those lights will come on.
this is how i disable it :hillbill:

not sure what else could be wrong.

But did it trip your CEL, too? That's what I'm confused about. Also, his ABS light isn't on.

Maybe he did the involuntary Andy Mod w/the CEL option. :D

 IIRC the CEL is on until i plug it back in...

i came across someone saying that a bad F O2 sensor(CA versions) maybe be a culprit :dunno:

Easiest way to figure out what the cause may be is by pulling the codes from the CEL. This can be done easily at a local AutoZone. The problem could be as easy as a loose fuel cap or even a busted ABS line. It can literally be anything so find out what codes are being thrown and go from there.

on 01s and 02s with vsc, the vsc and trac lights come on EVERY time the cel is on.

The codes he pulled were Cat converter and O2 sensor.

I'm guessing it's just the O2 sensor.
