22RE Mystery Gaskets

Hello sirs.

I will be needing to dive back into the motor soon, and am curious as to what these gaskets are for which are included in your typical HG set. Last time I did this I never found a use for them...that could be a problem. My only guess is it's for the intake manifold on a 22R and the set is meant for both 22R and 22RE...

I have wondered the same......I have two sets of them in my "gasket box",could be for the 22r,I will be tearing down a 22ret soon to rebuild so I may find them in there.

Those should be for the intake to intake manifold. The one on the right is what you'd want.

The one right beneath the valve cover seal goes there...

good call, for some reason my eyes didn't see that one so I assumed. I'm not sure you use those... I don't remember seeing those in the kit I got from EB.

I got those two in my EB kit... They must put them in random sets just to confuse us.

funny thing is, I was over at wimpywades today looking at his 4runner for some ideas and both those gaskets were laying in his runner, lol.

Seen those in my "gasket box" from the kit i git from EB too...at the time i was in to big of
a hurry to ask.

but im glad someone did.
