One of our own (Tanto) is currently serving in IRAQ. The staff here at UltimateYota would like to show our support and appreciation by sending him a care package. The pic above is a care package that I collected money for on another website to send to a buddy of mine who is a contractor training our soldiers over there. We would like to do something similar. I was able to assemble the one above for about $130 total, including the cost of the container and shipping.

I would appreciate any donations that you can muster. I'm putting in the first $20 to buy the rubbermaid containers and I'll cover shipping via USPS to Iraq on top of that.

You can send any amount: $1, $2, $5, etc. Whatever you want. No amount is too small, and no amounts will be listed by your name, so don't worry about coming across as "cheap", etc if you can't give much at all. It's the gesture and the thought that counts, NOT THE AMOUNT.

Lets plan on sending it out by the end of June. It would arrive there two to three weeks later.

Send donations to the UY paypal account: payments@ultimateyota.com

Please include your UY User Name in the subject line of the payment email. If you want to remain anonymous, then that's fine too!

I will post a reply here confirming your contribution and keep a running total so that everyone can see the progress.

THANKS!

i will. i would like to do this at LEAST three times a year. i don't care who they go to or if they are even affiliated with this site whatsoever. the point is to send stuff over to share just a little bit of "home" with them and let them know that we DO care that they are protecting our freedoms and serving our Country.

Ok, $210 total and I will be shopping tomorrow and post some pics.

I got another $200 from the other forum (aldeer.com) in addition to another $29 in Airmail stamps, so there will be quite a lot of stuff heading to the sandbox!

Thanks for all your help!

I got ANOTHER $100 check in from someone at aldeer.com, bringing their total to $300 in cash plus some help with shipping. Add that to the phenomenal total here ($210) and it was over $500!

THANK YOU for showing that you care about these men protecting our freedoms!

I went shopping... Wanna see what these guys are gonna get? :D

I had a name of a sailor on the USS Nimitz courtesy of Bob_98SR5. His screen name here is Tanto. I also sent one to jonesey002 and Dustin, both of aldeer.

Each got an EIGHTEEN-GALLON plastic tote worth about $150, packed to the brim with anything and everything that I could get in them, and all got everything they requested and then some.

Here's some pics:

receipts for all the items and shipping.

I spent ~$400 at Wal-Mart, another $47 at Kroger (don't have a pic of that receipt though), and then another $82 on shipping. Total spent was right at $530!

Again, THANK YOU to everyone for helping out!

If he is cutting boxes on a carrier he should. If he is on anything else he will have to wait for the carrier to get it and then a scheduled mail drop form the carrier to his ship, or maybe even from the carrier to a tender to him. It wasn't uncommon to get stuff mailed out 2 or more weeks earlier.

Nothing at all beats a care package from home.

i am sorry i couldnt contribute this round but it is a definite for the next.

no problem... don't worry, you'll have plenty of opportunities if you care to contribute. this most definitely won't be the last time we do this...

I may be able to get you another address in a little bit. My family has 'adopted' a soldier and he said that all of the soldiers love beef jerky.

Fine by me. We'll plan on doing another set before Labor Day or right around that time. Just make sure to get the addy by then and get it to me.
