I graduated from the academy, 3rd in my class overall, last Thursday (5/31).
I have some more agency specific training to go through but I'll be sworn in and working soon.

You know, I made it a point to watch that movie the day before my academy started!

Sorry, didn't know you were in the area. Even if I did I don't know if I'd really even be able to visit. Sleep is a VERY valuable commodity during academy time.
I actually didn't have to get sprayed by OC but the tear gas SUCKED big time. That stuff plays with your head and induces panic attacks - nasty crap. I did to taser training this last week. We didn't stay connected long enough to feel serious pain but my body felt really weird for a few minutes afterwards (only 1/2 second buzz too).

Bob:
I live close enough to WALK to work, I love it!
After having to drive 1 1/2 hours to San Diego and almost as long through traffic to the academy, it is SOOOO nice to have a leisurely 15 minute walk to work or 5 minute drive.

I wish photobucket wouldn't freeze when I try to load up video. I gots a lot of good ones :)

If so, small world. Our academy graduation was at the San Gabriel Civic Center. I still have yet to get actual graduation photos from people.

No name change most likely. It wouldn't be long before I got sick of it.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing at that time and what part of the FTO phase I'll be on. I'd be more than happy to go a-citation hunting. After all, I am recognized as a state cop :hillbill:

Andy, PF:
I have to say, in retrospect, the academy was strictly a perseverence thing. Just putting up with all the physical work and mind games that they play. That and a large bottle of Advil and No-Doze.

Jamie:
Probably not the smartest thing to live so close to my primary patrol area so I will eventually be moving BUT I will definitely enjoy the proximity until I do get around to moving.

I'll have to find some more fun pictures!
I'm gone for a few months and now a whole bunch has changed.
It's going to take a little effort to figure out how this forum works.
