An article in an Australian 4wd magazine. They bought several shackles and recovery straps off the shelf and sent them to a mechanical testing laboratory for destructive testing. The trend seems to be that you get what you pay for. I'd suggest you read the PDF files, they're a little better because of the sidebars and integrated pictures.
