Low gas indicator light not working

My low gas light hasn't worked since I got my taco. Does anyone know at what level it trips (.5 gallons, 1.5 gallons, etc.)? And if not, has anyone had their dash apart and seen how the cluster lights are set up?

I don't know about yours but my 93 4runner has the gas light sender about 1" off the bottom of the tank. See this thread: http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=1613.0

Check out a FSM or chiltons to see how to trouble shoot the sender, gauge or light. There's usually ways to diagnose without ripping apart the dash.
