OK so here's the deal, I put some side markers on my 3rd Gen that came from a Land Rover Disco II. So they have a single filament 194 bulb. Now my question is if anyone knows of a way to make a single filament bulb light up both with the parking lights and when I use my blinkers?

Thanks for your help guys!

did you try wiring them up by tapping into your front marker lights?

Yeah I have them wired to the markers right now, but I would also like them to blink when I use my signals.

I don't think that's possible.
You're asking a bulb to know when to blink off despite the fact that it's continuously powered through the parking lights. You'll either have to do some creative wiring or just do a simple double filament bulb swap. I went with the latter and it wasn't hard at all. It's definitely easier than trying to get a single filament to work.

is there such a thing as a double filament 194 bulb? I am more than willing to give it a try, but my local Autozone and O'Reilly didn't have them.

Sorry, I meant like getting an actual socket that fits a double filament bulb and replacing the stock sockets.

oh ok, I am open to that one too. Do you know where to find a socket that would replace the factory ones while retaining the sidemarker's housing since I've already cut the holes in the fender and mounted them? Or is it more of just finding something that works? Thanks again for all your advice!

It's not that hard. I did it on my Tacoma when my TJM came in without turn signal cut outs. You basically go to your local auto supply - buy 2 1157 sockets and 2 1157 bulbs. You take out your corners and the bulb/sockets. Go to town on the corners with a dremel and make it big enough to fit the 1157 sockets. Put your new assembly in and wire up appropriately.

Here's a write-up from 4crawler's site:

Dude, I will give it a try tomorrow to see how it works out.

Thanks again for your advice, for some reason I was just too retarded to even think of doing something like that.
