Helicopter ride up to the Mendenhall Glacier = AWESOME

Hey guys,

I wanted to share pics from a helicopter ride we went on up to the Mendenhall Glacier. It's a very popular tourist activity with folks off the cruse ships. This spring I won the grand prize at the local tourism fair. It was a trip for two, so I brought the wife. We waited until the perfect sunny day to use the gift certificate. It couldn't have been better!

Look for Mt. Goats in the pics of the ridges. They're there. One of the pics has over dozen little dots.

Sweet pix man. Reminds me of the time I went a few years back but dang a lot of the glacier has really disappeared! I can't believe you "licked/tasted" the glacier! Need not worry I had to do it too :)

Lol, everybody did it :spank: Yeah, it is receding at an incredible rate. It's been receding since the late 1700's.

It's so beautiful up there, if only I had access to a helicopter, I'd go up every chance I had. :D

Great Pics, remind me of when my wife and I took a plane tour of the Glaciers around the Wrangell Mountains and their glaciers in 1999.
