Figured i would post up with my guns. Started collecting here just a couple months ago. I think its becoming an addiction. Haha. I like it. Pretty sure i only like Sigs. I have checked out a lot of other guns and shot a few. Theres just nothing like a Sig. First purchase was a Sig 220R Carry Two Tone (The P220 is a .45 if you didnt know). Then after waiting 10 days to pick it up and another 30 days to be able to buy another handgun (damn Cali. gun laws) i bought a P229 Two Tone in a .40. Not gonna buy another one for a while, trying to discipline myself a little. Many more will come though. Well..... here they are.

Nice guns. I've always been meaning to pick up some hand guns. I'll probably end up getting a .45 or .40, then a .22 or 9mm for cheap ammo plinking.

I'm not a gun guy so prepare for a "stupid" question. Why would a person need multiple hand guns? Do they handle/perform significantly differently from one another?

Henry:
It's kind of like why some people would like multiple cars or multiple DVDs. Different calibers have different characteristics. That and it's his collection. When you really think about it - when does any sort of collection make any sense? :)

Onetruth:
Those are some pretty hunks of metal ;)
I didn't like the 2-tone before but it has definitely grown on me.

Thanks. If you want cheap ammo for plinking, .22 is the only way to go. About 9 bucks for 550 rounds at WalMart. .45 is about 23 bucks for 100 rounds, .40 is about 18 bucks for 100 rounds and 9mm is abour 15 bucks for 100 rounds.

I have two hands, one gun for each. :hillbill:

Nah, each gun is totally different, from the ballistics of each different round to the design of it. Both of these guns are meant for concealed carry, but the P229 would be better. Less to get snagged. No picatinny rail either. When it comes down to it though, you really dont need more than one if your just looking for some home defense. Like Peter said, its just another senseless collection.

Thanks Peter, gotta love the two tone. I know i do. As long as its available in two tone thats what i will probably buy. Maybe one of these days i will buy an all black gun. Maybe.

I think Sig's are a fine weapon, but I prefer HK's . I had a Sig P229 in S&W 40cal. It was a very nice weapon.

The big difference I found between it and my H&K USP 40 I have, was the recoil. HK's have a very good recoil reduction. The Sig didn't have the ambidextrous mag release, it did have a very nice set of Nils wooden grips on it. Some sort of 50th anniversary issue. Made it a nice looking weapon.
Also had a set of Tri-con night sites.

The HK's seem to keep a little stronger resale, The P229 I had I paid $650 for it and had it a year. I shot less than a box of ammo through it,(the Sig,) and had a hard time getting $550 out of it.

Bottom line! They are both very fine weapons, both have a wonderful reputation for reliability,
I just prefer the HK's over Sig's and Glocks. TJ

I perfer not to say exactly how many firearms I have in my collection, but I do enjoy shooting many forms of the sport.

Some of my favorites are the Colt 45 SAA's, Henry copy in 45LC and Colt 1878 double barrel shotgun for CAS events. Long Range black powder, I have a Shiloh Sharps in 45/110, which is one of my most expensive ventures, considering all the equipment needed to properly build an accurate load. As for modern I like my Benelli super 90 model 3 shotgun, Remmington 700 PSS in 308, and the ever so trusty Colt Government 45ACP.

Bruce, you seem to have a great affliction for older weapons. I am going to give you a decent web site for both collectables and modern weapons. I have found the place to be a little high on price, but you will see some fanstic weapons there.

The site is www.collectorsfirearms.com Go to opening page and click on the red highlighted sign in top right hand corner. It says's (New Arrivals,) then when that page comes up choose the blue box down on the right to see all arrivals in photo's plus description.

I promise that you will not be disappointed spending a little time there . Plus if you do see something you like I have done business with them and they are really decent. Plus they might even deal a little. TJ

it seems to me that post up what kind of firearms you have is almost like registering them. you can all call me paranoid but hey i live in california everytime you see some guy arrested they always talk about this huge cache of weapons (in reality it's like 2 pistols and a shotgun)
