if you have a limited slip differential, supposedly, you need a friction modifier. i am not sure if the 2002 tacoma v6 4x4's have a limited slip diff..

Yes, Red line 75W90 already has a friction modifier. no need to add.

You'll know if a friction modifier is need for your gear oil because the LSD will be noisy.

If you just have a plain open diff, you won't need any kind of friction modifier.

For limited slips (especially clutch types) it would depend on the oil. I know Amsoil has a synthetic-compatible friction modifier you can add. Others may already have it in them.

just talked with a guy from my local yota place and he said no that it doesnt have a limtited slip therefore just use 75w90 plain or synthetic and thats it
