Has anyone had thier wheels beadlocked by OMF? I'm about to have it done and wondering what some peoples experiences have been? Thanks in advance!

Overall good experience.

$$$, but I'm happy with the result.

The problem I had was about a month after beadlocking, while driving, one of the inner rims fell off the wheel. I guess it wasn't welded on properly. Anyway, I sent it back to OMF, they took care of it, and beadlocked my spare for the trouble. As far as I know, Bruce hasn't had any trouble with his wheels.

Bones will help ya out.

Can you still balance the wheels and tires? Or does it take too much weight after the beadlock ring has been welded on?

no problems balancing my 315's w/ the beadlock at discount tire :)

With 33" MT/R's, these wheels unbalanced were better than my steel wheels balanced.

Now I have 37" MT/R's. They are good up to 60. After that, I am driving a rock crawler.

Either you need beadlocks and will deal with the hassles or you don't. Dealing with the other stuff is offset by actually needing the locks off road.

If standard balance gives you problems, tryh airsoft pellets or dynabeads among others.

After losing one too many wheel weights, I've switched to DynaBeads, much better now....

never did have any issues with getting them balanced, as long as the proper cone was used in the first place. Smooth ride at all speeds.........

Just curious, have any of you guys been pulled over with bead locks? If so was it an issue or did you just tell the cops they were the fake "simulated" beadlocks?

Kurt,

In CA, it's not illegal to have beadlocks because there are no vehicle codes that says otherwise. I'm sure it's the same in NV. So with that said, go get em :) you'll love em!

prices has definitely gone up in the last few years so don't expect to be able to get them anywhere near what others have in the past. Expect to pay around 2-3 big ones per wheel.

OMF is more expensive than Champion (at least they were when I was pricing things out to do mine)

Champion has pricing on their site: Clicky (http://www.cwibeadlock.com/Conversions.htm)

I called OMF yesterday and I can confirm that champion is about $50 less per wheel. I will have to put this mod on my distant future mod list.
