Just got back a few hours ago, good times for sure. Not too much damage. A small battle scar on the passenger side rear door right above the window from a decent sized downed tree sticking out into the trail. Front passenger side tire got a slice through the sidewall, only 1 ply though, so its still good to go. Broke the passenger side rear corner mount of the roof rack. Was going a little fast over some whoops and accidentally launched off one. With the weight of the Hi Lift it stood no chance. Haha.

Weather was great. First trail which was the lowest in elevation got up in the low to mid 90's. Once we were on the Sherman Pass 4x4 Trail we never got above 80. Right around 75 all day. This morning when i woke up it was 40. Kinda nice. We were 8000ft and above most of the time though.

I have to say that the Sherman Pass Trail is my favorite out of the trails i have done so far. Huge trees and a little of everything as far a wheelin' goes. A little rock crawling, some rutted areas, a lot of super steep climbs and so on. From the start of the trail we climbed 2000ft in a little under 2 miles. It was good stuff.

Ok, blah blah blah. Onto the pics.

Yeah dude, you missed out for sure. Definitely a trail to look forward to. I really liked this area and will head back for sure. As for the water crossing, the deep water i was in wasnt actually the crossing. The crossing was only 6-10" deep and i wanted deeper. :D So i kinda drove up the river a bit. It was a between 2 and 2.5 feet deep in the pic. No water in the truck. Water came right up to the bottom of the door. I opened the door and as it swung out it was hitting water. The truck did take a huge piss after i came out of the water though. Haha. Next time i go back to this area i want to go earlier in the year when there is more spring runoff. There will be some good crossings for sure then.

Nice pics!

Which trail did you end up doing all the damage on?

Must've been nice to get up out of the heat into the mountains.

Dont know where the tire damage happened. Found it when i was airing up. Happened either on Freeway ridge or Sherman Pass. The small battle wound from the downed tree sticking into the trail was on Sherman Pass. The broken roof rack was out in Monanche Meadows. It is pretty open out there and i was cruising along at 30-40mph. Then came a whoop out of no where, thats when it happened. It was kinda funny after it happened though.

It was way nice to be up in the mountains and out of the heat. I seriously didnt want to come home. I really do love that area up there. Cant wait to go back.

If anyone in SoCal hasn't been there, you need to go. I've been a few times and it is an especially great trip for families. Monache Meadows is God's own country.

Yes, you sure need to watch out for those woops...they sneak up darn quick.

Great photos. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with you Mark. Everyone should go there. So nice. I think we should get a trip going for late spring next year, when there is more water and deeper water crossings. That would be good stuff. Just watch out for those damn whoops! Haha.
