Im needing a set of the (rear) Lower Suspension Arms, mine are sooo bent, they are making contact with the sway bar end links.
Im really wanting these http://www.sonoransteel.com/rubicon_express_links.html :D but just cant afford it right now, since the boys just went back to KC, and we spent wayyyyyy to much money while they was here.
So Im looking for a used set right now, and going to just weld a piece of angle iron on them, I know another Co. is making something and Ill probley be the test mule :D but its taking them way to long. I need something asap, as I want to wheel
So if anyone knows someone parting out a 4Runner, please let me know.

I might have a set of 5 "slightly" :hillbill: used Ivan Stewart TRD wheels to trade/sell :headscratch:

car-parts.com has them but they arent very cheap

why not make your own? know anyone who can weld??

take your current arms off, cut as close to the ends as possible, grind off the excess, cut DOM tubing with a chop saw to the proper length, then get someone who's good at welding to get good penetration welding the ends on while making sure theyre perfectly straight.

the hardest part is pressing out the bushings though you can get a shop to do that maybe? all it takes is a torch to the outside with the pressure of the press on the bushing and it'll start to slide out till its all the way out. then while its hot, you press in the new ones from toyota which arent very cheap.

at the end of all this work, you will save like 300 bucks though!

here are mine http://kidmoe.com/4runner/629random/3.jpg

another option is have kartec make you a set of arms. Just call them with the length from eye to eye and they'll used DOM tube, thread it and then you add Heim joints. that's what we did to Lance's rig. Price was reasonable too......

I'll give Vince a call and see if he wants to part them out...... The rolled runner.....

I might still have mine from that '96 4Runner I parted out. I will check tonight when I'm out in the garage, I can't remember if they went out to the steel recycling place or not?

I talked with Vince last night, he's holding off in parting it out, but if he resumes, he knows you need them.

i want to know if those that Steve sells are worth the $400? Do they offer a better ride or is the price more on durability/quality?

in addition to the 1/4 wall tubing, the super awesome flex joints at each end offer awesome articulation.

i know how you feel

i bought a gps on ebay and the shipper says he sent it 2 days ago via usps (i got an email confirmation) but the tracking # i got still doesnt show it as shipped :(

anyway sorry im anxious too!

Ric
07-20-2007, 07:57 PM
yea, it can be frustrating, i do my best, if i sell something online to ship it that day, the day the bank says the funds are good, or when i get the paypal, its shipped that day, i then email the customer the tracking number.. it sux to be waiting, lol.
but i understand people have lives, kids, etc.

Ric

ric, DO NOT WHEEL on them anymore. when you snap one you will be VERY upset

ive seen it happen on a 3rd gen in our club and it was really terrible to have to mangle it together to try to limp off the trail.

also be careful putting any stress on it.. if you watch it, you will see that your axle moves forward in an alarming way. i watched mine do that in a video... then we made the DOM ones.

i really think if you could find someone who knows how to weld VERY well (someone you trust enough that will be meticulous enough to ensure the welds penetrate properly and the ends are lined up perfectly straight), you could make these yourself. just purchase some DOM tubing, maybe find another 3rd gen who needs this done too and you can save some $$ on the tubing.

its not hard, the welding is the tough part :)

Ric

Lee,
yea, in NOT gonna wheel it till its fixed. Im not even going to drive it, unless I have to.
I really want Steves links, but just cant aford them now.
