Having been around the net long enough, I am quite familiar with the common "mods" to customize different rigs. Having a 3.4 in the truck, I was quite familiar with the standard 4" deckplate mod for increased performance. Since my truck was having issues running, I thought I would go whole hog. If 4" is good, 8" is at least twice as good.
So, start with the hole. If you look closely, something is missing, you shouldn't be able to see axle from here.

Then do the hotrod thing, chop and channel. The sender/pump got a 3" drop all around.

Finally, fill the holes with things that fit. I used a metric crap load of black FIPG. Who would have thought Toyota would make a gasket for an 8" deckplate?

Now I have even more Taco parts on my truck. Performance improvement was astonishing. It now runs and drives like a stock 3rd Gen instead of sitting around like an old tractor.
