When I first fabricated my slider, it was completely stock, so they stopped short of hitting the SR5 flares. Since then I went to 35" tires, for them to clear the bottom portion of the flares needed to be cut off. Now there was a gap between the sliders and tire, where a rock could contact the body. I finally have the time to do a much needed modification....

cut the back portion off and extended to the end of the body seam

bent a piece of tubing 135 degrees and welded it in place

The back doors just clear the kickouts a little over an inch and stick out almost flush with the width of the rear wheels.

Cool Bruce. We had talked about this when I was up at your place getting the bumper put on. Turned out nice.

This may be something I need to do also.

The kickouts on mine have been awesome so far. Very nice for pivoting around rocks if its hard to make the turn.

Yeah I think most of us tested our armor on the trail this weekend. The rear bumper Bruce made for me did awsome. At one point the drivers side wing was supporting the entire weight of the rear of the Runner on a boulder. No problem.

A little rattle canning it and it will be good as new. Thanks again for a great bumper.
