So i got some sliders from Mr. Wabfab (good guy to do business with), built by 4XInnovations. 60' HREW with the kickout. So i wanted these to be removeable but did not want to drill into the frame. I am modest when I go offroad as its my DD and got these for insurance as my running boards were being assaulted and it was only a matter of time until "crunch". I also ordered the mounting plates by trailgear. So with the mounting plates from 4xInnovations my buddy welded in bolts to the holes and did his magic making them. These were then welded to my frame. The sliders were then welded up normally (as I supervised with a coffee)with the trailgear L brackets. The angle is at 15 deg +/- a degree or so. These then just slip on over the 3/8 bolts in the other plate and screw on the nut. They are very sturdy and did the jack test. All is good. I then sprayed on some of that nice duplicolor graphite wheel paint..Im quite happy. So if you dont like the mounting, shhhh..this will work great for me. To the pics.
Bare.

Nice looking install. First time i've seen sliders being mounted like that...very creative.
I wonder though if that design would hold up over time though...

Why is the weld along the bottom so short?

well i guess ill find out. To me its better than just using self tappers to the frame. If anything fails, its an easy fix by just taking off an individual plate and correcting the problem. As for the bottom welds, time ran short and we have some minor touch ups to do. Also Im not slamming against rocks, this just really will help with sliding over the dirt mounds and trees that are the most common in the terrain in my area.

I had mentioned a similar mounting system in another thread on sliders, but welding nuts to the backside and drilling relief holes in the frame so the plates mounted flush.

You might want to think about running a bead of weld all the way around, it will keep moisture from getting between the plates.....

Ya we are going to finish up next weekend. We thought of the relief hole as well, but figured we'd go one step further and inlay the bolt into the plate and then any excess bolt head was ground down to be flush with the plate.. Personally I like this mounting and think it will be fine for me.

Those sliders look really nice! I like the way the kickout is designed.

How about a pic of the actual mounting/bolting to the plates?
I might try the same method when i get around to buying some myself.

Pay no attention to the crappy washers and nuts. It was the long weekend so most places that had the good stuff were closed, so I just used some washers and etc. I had lying around.
