Need satellite internet, I'm moving, and let's just say there's not much in the way of internet access there.
I know of a couple, but I'd like to see if any one has it, the speeds, and the uptime vs. downtime

For people here in Iowa that live in the "boonies" they use a wireless dsl system that works okay. Its pretty pricey.
Sattelite-ISP is an expensive endever, most firms want you to purchase the equipment.

david, have you checked your cell carriers to see if you can use one of their broadband cards? of course this only applies if you've got cell coverage but it's worth a shot :)

Unless you have a local Provider who has a T-1 or 5, to do the wireless DSL like mentioned you two choices are going to be Direct Way(hughes net) http://www.hughesnet.com and WildBlue http://www.wildblue.com/ . They are pretty much the same just like Dish Network, and DirecTv. So its almost going to matter on who has the better prices. WildBlue is newer and was just coming out when we stopped doing the installs. We have done a few for customers. Done a bunch of DirectWay. They both have about the same stuff. The only real problem with them usually is lag times. When the installer comes out make sure they are doing it properly. These dishes are generally a little bigger than Tv ones so they move alot in the wind. Problem is they are on a tighter spot on the sat they are aimed at so move to much loose internet.
Haven't done one in a long time but my Brother has done a few and a bunch of Repair work for past and some new customers lately.
Remember my company does Custom Electronic Systems. So next time just pm me. Might have missed it other wise. :chair:
Oh and as you get out of the metro areas your EDge card or what not reverts to dial up speeds.

you will like the wireless better. sometimes the lag on sat can be obnoxious
