I have never had a sore back until now. What should I do? I am not much into laying on my back. I have spent enough time being immobilzed with my broken leg.

Any suggestions?

I think this started by last Saturday night, I was driving with a friend and he was involved in a very minor fender-bender. Felt nothing at the time.

Try taking some Ibuprofen that will help with inflamation. You might want to go see a chiropractor to make sure your spine isn't out of alignment. I don't see how a minor fender bender could cause too much damage, though...just my .02

If there is something functionally whacked, you need a Doc.

I had issues with sciatica, that awesome one leg numbness to the toes. Then I started landscaping and working outside. I cut about 25 pounds and got strong. My back hasn't felt this good in as long as I can remember.

Slowly work it back into shape. Get strong. If something is broke, take time to recover, I prefer lying on my back with my legs up on the sofa.

Good luck.

Yeah, talk with your doc or go see a chiropractor. Mine has helped with my chronic back problems, they still crop up once in awhile, but they go away with rest, not like it used to where it would hurt for days.

I dont think my back is messed up with the accident either. I think this is a result of weight gain. Checking the scale I am 15 pounds heavier than usual.

Weight gain will put strain on your lower back. I went from 200lbs to 225 and I feel a big difference.

As will favoring one leg over another such as, say, hobbling around with a broken leg means things aren't in the normal alignment/muscle usage.

Don't mess around, it could be something simple, but it could also be the beginning of something serious. (Hope Not!) You have health insurance go to a real doctor not a chiropractor. It probally is something simple and with your leg being broken and laid up a while you need to re strengthen the muscles in your back. The Doctor can give you some simple exercises to help strengthen it up. Plus you may loose the weight in the process of the excessing.... :chair: TJ

With my back not getting any better, my doctor referred me to a chiropracter. After xrays and tests, it was found that I have no curve in my neck. So now I go to the "back breaker" 3 times a week. I am feeling much better. I feel progress is being made....

If you experience numbness, especially in your arms and hands, request an MRI be done. With normal x-rays they cannot determine if nerve damage persists. I am fighting with the stupid VA DR. about that right now. Hopefully the chiropractor helps you.

No numbness, just a pain between my shoulder blades and on my right side.

You should be good to go with the chiropractor then.

I still don't like bone crusher's and still don't! Sorry if that offends any one in that profession. TJ

The thing that makes me nervous about Bone Krusher's are the simple way they try and"align you." Like a car, let me get the big wrench and hammer.

They put you on that lift table and then they have you lie on your side with your knees pulled up like in a fetal position then they take your shoulder and push down on your knee and twist you into a non natural position. I am a big man and if I did that to someone I would literary break their back.

Plus have you seen the "Penn & Teller," episode on Chiropractors. I know like doctors there are good ones and bad ones. I do know one here in Winterset that uses a homophobic treatment instead of just snapping your neck or your rib cage.

I hope the person you are using also knows a lot about the muscular system and uses heating treatments, as well as ultrasonic therapy on you.

If you truly have a nerve problem you should be seeing a Neurologist. Pinched nerves are not something to pay with they become inflamed and then comes the pain. Bout all they can do at that point is cortisone injections. Huge needles, injected deeply. You may also want to consider an Orthopedic Doctor. ,but make sure you check out some options you shouldn't feel numb between the shoulders, and side.

Ask your doctor for a MRI, having no curve in your neck would have been discovered a long time ago, plus I wouldn't think it would lead to numbness in your side or back.

My head size measures 25.1/2 inches and my neck is 24.1/2 inches talk about no curve.....LOL TJ
