Swapping climate control system

Has anyone thought of switch out the stock climate control for the auto climate control system out of the limited 4runners (gen 3)?
Just wondering I haven't seen anyone do this mod and was wondering if it has been done or even possible.

The bottom line is it is certainly possible, but it is also a tremendous amount of work (you'll need to replace all the air ducts in the dash which can be quite involved as you might imagine) and very expensive unless you have a donor vehicle handy (because you'll need all the ducts, wiring harness and the control panel). I have not seen anyone do it for the above mentioned reasons.....usually if they wanted a vehicle with that option, they just sold their vehicle and bought a limited instead).

You'll also need the evaporator because the climate control is tied to the evaporator. and maybe a new blower that will match the new evaporator and heater

i remember when i last inquired into this it would have been 700$ or more to get it in my 02

just not worth it IMHO, which I know isn't worth much.
