The Brown Truck brought in some more goodies for the Taco!!!

http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/ExPo/Wil's_Monitor_Mount_WR%5b1%5d.JPG

It is a 4 camera (FAX, RAX, Rear, Front), where both axle camera's are B&W and the front and rear are color.... then connected to the monitor above. The connections have and addional line in and line out (for recording). Other than that I will need to dig into the packaging to find out more.

It is all set up into a wiring harness designed for the Taco. From a quick glance the package from http://www.totalvisionproducts.com/"]Total (http://"[url) Vision[/URL] did a great job. Each camera has custom made mounts and harness, it looks top notch.

The screen and mount is custom made by total vision.. I believe it is about a 6" screen that they have found and tested to be most visible in daylight conditions. In my application with the Can-Back and rear bumper set up I can not see anything out the rear of the vehicle even looking backwards. Since the monitor goes in place of the mirror (which was pointless) I decided for a permanent monitor mount in the position as pictured.

I will try and post up a pic when I get around to it.

looks fancy.

my next big computer related project for the truck is a full rock camera system, views of each wheel, mainly on the right side, and all of that being able to be recorded on to disk for future fun.

ooooo sexy!!!

what does it look like mounted in the cab? I'm wondering how much of your visibility gets blocked (forward and side vision)? i've got my gps laptop up mounted on the center console area up front and it really takes away from the visibility depending on how the mount is setup. I'm definitely curious on how it looks in the cab :)

Ok here is some info on the monitor:

Screen Size: 5.6"
Power input: DC12v
Aspect ratio: 4:3
Display Format: 960X234pixes

I threw it up in the truck tonight and snapped a few shots... it is slick.... With the sun visors down, the bottom of the monitor is in line with the bottom of visors as shown below:

hey that's not that bad at all. you think you can take a few shots that shows the entire windshield in comparison with the bling in the center? :)

trying to get a better perspective of what that looks like from behind or from a distance.

Sure... Tomorrow is the full install. I landed from FL and all I could think about on the drive home was the monitor... so in it went. I only had about an hour of sunlight so I only did the monitor. I hope to get up early tomorrow (beat the 110° heat) and finish it up. I will post up more pics once it is done and be sure to get some larger area shots.
