Built this flat bed on a 91' xtra cab 3rd gen pickup. Used Bender's design for the most part. Still have three more things to do.

1. Down bars
2. 1-1/4" tubed railing
3. Add some LEDs for turn signals and brake lights.

Still my favorite flat bed design to date. I want to do it but I have someone whispering in my ear that I wouldn't have a place for the dog....that I don't have, lol.

Nice design and fabrication work. Any reason why you chose to fab
a "tail-gate" and not recess the lights into the rear cross-member?

Those lights press into place from the back of the grommet. No way to do that on 2x3" Square .250 wall tubing. It was just easier to go that route.

Looks great! Are you planning an exo to connect to it (seems your hoop above the cab would be just the right height to do that)

That is why I built it like that. If he ever wanted to he could.
