Scheduled time to chat with the staff

I was in the chat today for the first time in months - I seemed to have forgotten we had that feature (as I suspect others have also). I had a nice chat in there with a few of our active members and forgot how much fun it can be. With the hit and miss nature of the chat, it makes it difficult to try to catch someone in particular in the chat.

In an effort to make sure that we (the staff of UltimateYota), remain completely accssible, we thought it might be a good idea to have a weekly scheduled chat. We'll make sure that at least one of us is available at the scheduled time.

The purpose of this thread is to gauge interest in this and to ask for some days/times that seem like logical places to start.

great idea! I know for that those of us with kids, the late evenings work well. Obviously not too late, especially considering the 3hr difference for east/west coast.

I really enjoy having a load of people in the chatroom throughout the work day, i know many of us have computer/office based jobs and can get to the chat on a semi regular basis. I had a good time chatting with you today Mike. It seems we have had one admin after another in there today, we are only missing a couple. :)

However, I will go with herd mentality here, if everyone says evening, then evenings it is. :)

How about a regularly scheduled time where one of the monitors will be available. If you pull this off, this will be another dimension that will set this forum apart from the others. Avoiding the 'Ivory tower' mentality is always good, and having the UY 'brass' remain approachable would be huge... :thumbup:.

Sorry but I don't like anyone so if I see anyone in the chatroom I'm gonna go ballistic ;)

We're trying to figure out when the ideal time/date would be best suited for our membership. With various timezones it really does make it a challenge to get everyone together so we're opening up the doors for everyone to speak up and give us a good window of opportunity for everyone to get together.

Of course at the 6pm time you stated to start, the mySQL server took a powder for a while. Fortunately, this happens pretty rarely.

I'm on the east coast, but am just about ALWAYS in the chat room from 7am-5pm EST, and can be there other times. I would really like to see us pull this off, I think the chat is SUCH an underutilized tool for keeping the community whole, and keeping the staff approachable. So what times work good here guys?
