I have been watching in awe as the Canadian dollar has just been rocketing up against the US dollar. Man it makes it that much better to go shopping south of the border but I can't help but think what a big stink people are going to make up here about having to pay more than our neighbors to the south (cars, books, electronics, you name it). I think this equalization is long overdue because shit costs way more than it should up here! :D

Anyway, anyone want to place bets on when the dollar will pass par?

99.91 cents US this morning. They say it will surpass the US dollar most likely.

Quit run, the Cadadian dollar was 62 cents US in 2002.

Now if you would only have bought a house on the west coast, you would have doubled your money another time.
I've been in Chatham twice this year, man what is housing cheap over there.
Over here you buy nothing in town for under $300K anymore. That's living an hour from Vancouver. In Vancouver it is a least half a mill for a small house.
Crazy place we live in, but it's beautiful up here. I am glad I bought a house in 2000.

Moving to Canada used to be cheap, not so much anymore. Washington State is starting to look very attractive. Cheap housing, cost of living is a lot more affordable.

Anyway, back to regular programming: The looney

I just got back from a business trip to Vancouver, very nice city!
Yeah, I saw that housing wasn't cheap at all.

I didn't buy a house in the US but I did take out a US loan and paid back in CDN dollars so that worked out great too.
Kinda like a mini George Soros deal....

Anyway, that loonie is just hovering right below the par mark right now.....should surface at any time! :D

Next time you're around, touch base. We could grab a bite to eat or something.

People's wallets down south are going to look like this after the flood over canadians arrive over the border buying up everything in sight.

I remember paying $3.75 for a 8oz glass of soda at Waterton Lakes, Canada. No refills either!
