ok so finally, over a year after getting the vehicle, the sliders are on, i installed them on the 23rd. had to run my welder off a 10kw generator to get them on.

heres finished pics:

paint is rustoleum hammer finish in silver, grip tape was found at lowes.

this is wabfab/4xinnovation's kit, the tube between the frame and sliders was cut at 103MM from bottom of notch to end of tube.

i kinda thought the same thing about them being short, but in my research ive found that this is the length that everyone seems to run. brian contacted me about it, offered to work something out (i appreciate that greatly!) but i decided that they are perfect!

i didnt even scratch thm up at gold mountain.

i have to say, i really had a hard time welding on the frame, besides the welding verticle and upside down, having a 18 HP vtwin engine at wot running next to you makes it hard to concentrate on what you are doing. hopefully those welds will hold! lol. they arent pretty, but they should hold just fine.

sean,

they do seem a little narrow (width). did you have to weld the outriggers too?

sean you're just a poser :tongueout:

gotta take ya to some of the other stuff that'll definitely guarantee that you'll scratch up those pretty bad boys :chair:

o and pismo isn't one of them cuz I highly doubt sand will do a number of it!

Do you have any profile pics showing the vertical distance between your sliders and the bottom of the door?

Looking good Sean. Looking forward to beating them up with you.

Did you cut any of the corners off of the mounting plates prior
to welding so as to minimize the vertical welds. Not the best
thing for our puny frame thickness. JAT.

Post some pics of the mounts.........

i was out looking at the underside of the vehicle, noticed quite a bit of rust on the parts, i must not have gotten enough rustoleum on there. im going to have to spray it real good and then coat it with alot of undercoating.

no i didnt cut the corners, should i have? ohwell, too late now.

ill try to get some more pics tomorrow if i can. today was spent with a bad back, tomorrow is a busy busy day.
