Had breakfast with a guy today who had procured a rust free import. It was the most badass thing I'd ever seen.

So here it goes.

From the factory:
A/C
Cruise Control
5speed.
Manual hubs

turbo diesel- says it gets up and goes, faster than his 3.4 trucks. (guy has a lot of trucks). oh, and did i mention around 40mpg? Yeah.

wheelbase is somewhere between a jeep and a 1st gen 4runner. Almost zero tail, so great departure angles, but long enough to be fairly stable too.

factory cable acutated front and rear lockers. Selectable with a completely bombproof actuation system, mounted in cab, so just as easy as pushing a button.

2 seater, but enough cargo space to make camping a breeze.

This guy put 600 bucks into a OME leafspring lift, and can run 35's.

The truck was just plain sick. I dunno if it's the best Toyota has ever come out with, but it has my vote.

I fell in love with the Toyota Turbo Diesels after driving an TD 80-series in Turkey. I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out an affordable way to import one.

basically a 60 series with out the rear seats and cargo area?

much like a samauri.

No. Nothing like a 60 series. Much, much better.

Lance, This is a slightly longer version. But yeah, essentially the same front end. This was just enough longer to be usable for camping with a bunch of gear, but still shorter than my 4runner. Also had wider front fenders, and was equipped with after market bumpers.

Yup, except this was a two door model, so slightly shorter wheelbase.

That one only has 61000 kilometers, less then 40000 miles.

pretty much dead on there blake...Some slight differences, but that is the length and body style to a T. Crap I wish I could afford one. There was a BJ-70 for sale in Golden, 12k. Bummer.
