I had my pads and rotors replaced a little while back and some problems have come up. First, this has happened almost since the brakes were replaced, is there is a grinding noise when I hold down the brake pedal while in drive or reverse and turn the wheel. Second is something I just noticed as it has just started to rain around here. When driving and coming to a stop, if i drive over something slippery, such as a wet sewer cover, the brake pedal goes to the floor, a scary ass noise that sounds like the brakes are coming apart is heard, and the 4runner skids. Very scary every time it happens, which is about 3-4 times so far. Any ideas on what I should have specifically checked? I dont have the time, space or resources to do it myself so I'll have to bring it back to the shop that did the brakes if it is their mess up or if its something else, to the dealer. Thanks guys.

I take it that this is on your 1998 4runner?
It could be as simple as the backing plate got bent and is touching the rotor.
The "scary ass noise" sounds like the ABS is kicking in when the vehicle skids.....totally normal.

Yep its my 98. Does the ABS normally engage with a loud clunk with the brake pedal falling out from under your foot? I never had this problem with the old warped brakes but I've skid a few times already with the new ones and they were all at relatively slow speeds.

Henry, no that loud "clunk" is not normal.....nor is having the brake pedal drop to the floor. It could be that the calipers are hanging up somehow but you should definately bring it back and have them look at it.
