View Full Version : Swaybar End Links (rear)
Ive read somewhere, that the 2nd Gens (rear) swaybar end links are longer than the 3rd gens. So I ran to a jumk yard today, checked it out, and yes, they are longer, from just looking, they look about 2" longer, so I grabed 2 sets.
Ill swap these out hopefully this week, my thought is, if they are 2" longer than what I have now, that the rear should flex a little more, :D
"may" even handle a little better on the street, not sure.
Ill try to post up pics when I do the swap.

Well when you come to your senses let me know. :flipoff:
Psst they are on sale this month too. :spit:
:guitar:
I seen that, and almost grabed them, but we are going back to KC for thanksgiving, (hoteland gas) and Trevers birthday is the 15th, so what Im saying is, realy need to get other things first.
I think ya know me, when I get a (real) set, you know where Im going :D
Ok all,
I did try the links from a 95 4Runner, YES, they are longer:

But my feeling was/is, since they are longer, they are really close to the lower link:

and when I start flexing, it could cause problems, like the swaybar link hitting the lower link, so I tried to do some "driveway flexing" :hillbill: Just to see what would happen:

(dont ya just love Rednecks :D)
Heres how close it was with the 2nd Gen end links:

Note in the previous pic, the tire wasnt stuffed much.
So I decided to go with the tested and true (WabFab) I had my front swaybar quick discos just sitting in the garage, so I thought lets see.
In this pice you can tell it allows for more flex: (its flexed on the tire thats on the curb)

In closing, Ive tried the 2nd gen link, it was to long, the stock link is to short (for me) WabFabs are just right  (Note: you can cut WabFabs to suite your needs)
swaybars are for wusses
good tests ric :)
swaybars are for wusses  so very true..
Im thinking when I get back from KC, Im going to try wheeling, just daily driving without the rear swaybar connected, the fronts havent been connected in years, but Im thinking with both off, that will be to scary with the way people drive around here :D
