Great weekend. I got off to a rough start after about two hours of running around before everyone else started to show up...

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/dfireballd/Windows-1252BSU1HMDAwMzAuanBn.jpg

My guess is that it was one of the tires that I have run over a nail or something in the past and running 40psi in the tires caused it to blow out.

Later on the next day, I had to turn around in a rockgarden after we realized the canyon we were following turned out to be a deadend and I managed to wedge a big rock on my 3/16" steel skidplate right between the two lower control arm mounts on the passenger side that bent the skid a good bit. I know that if I hadn't had those beefy plates made up for me by Jeremy that I might not have made it home. It did take me a while to figure out that I was the only IFS guy in the group after Eric, Anthony, and Rob decided not to follow us...

Then as I was gassing up at the Jacumba Valero on my way out on the first day, and saw this little Chevy car that had a MONSTER antenna strapped onto the roof and a Lowrance GPS unit. Turns out that the guy was working for Google Maps and was driving remote roads to get better routing accuracy.

Is Jamie's Testicle different now? It seems like everyone had a more difficult time getting up it. I watched your quarter panel cam video too.

I'm back from New York, just in time to miss all the fun. Woohoooo!

That area has a bunch of loose rocks, always makes for an interesting climb. I've only run it twice so I couldn't really tell any difference.

Well I was bummed I couldn't get over the dunes to join in on the fun. I'll have to check out my transmission overheating and slipping this week, probly add a cooler too. I wish I could have watched Mikey and Mike attack the waterfalls. All in all I had a good time. I hope to be fixed by the next run.

Had a great time as usual. I was too busy getting us lost to take many picture, but I did get a few on Jaime's obstacle.

I think the kids had fun with the quads and watching movies in the pop ups...thanks Eric and Rob.

Thanks Mikey for the Carne feast!!

Great time this weekend, luckily my CB speaker held out long enought to hear the traditional theme song to the start of a run being played.
Mikey--Great job with the Carne again, and the quads were great.
Hopefully we'll get some more wheeling done next time.

Good times everyone. Thanks for putting this event together Marc. I had never been to Superstition Mountain. From the Sand to the Rock, from breaking brake lines and drive shaft. Big thanks to Mikey for trailering my rig back to home. I am greatly Appreciated for your help, and owe you one. That goes for Eric as well, for sticking around and helping Mikey and I load up and get home.

The Stone Bomb was cool after several attempts. Catching a baby Sidewinder that was sleeping with us under our tent was cool. I had one little rattle. Mikey, I forgot to pitch in this time for Carne. It was the bomb. I hope everyone enjoyed the Posole. Glad to see Anthony enjoying is first run out with his 4X4 4Runner. It was good to meet some of the member I have never met.

April had a good time and was super tired. She would begin to snore after 2 minutes once we got home. My wife took all these Pics. Enjoy them, and if any one wants the origianl's PM me with your e-mail. Now I got some work to do to the Beast :)

I'm off work for 9 days prior to Turkey day. Maybe a little day run at least?
I've got Erics old MTs and some MTs from the Ultimate Champion of Tires and now I'd like to try them out.
Thanks Eric!

They do rub at full lock/full stuff, so maybe a 1" BL is in order?
Eric is Gabe available to help? He really came through with my bumper install.

ecchamberlin
11-10-2007, 08:06 AM
So post up some pics dude. Lets see them. And I will ask Gabe if he wants to help you out with the BL. LOL If he doesn't want to do it let me know, I may know a guy....

You know Rob I would do a 1.5 if I had it to do all over again. Anthony did a 1.5 also and I think it gives you just that little bit of extra clearance with no real down side. My 1" works but like I said I wish I had done a 1.5".

BL's are so easy on 3rd gens.

Did ULTIMATE CHAMPION OF TIRES :bling: have any more 285's?

11-10-2007, 08:14 AM
Hey Eric, Could I get the address for Ultimate Champion of Tires and a number?

ecchamberlin
11-10-2007, 09:50 AM
Mike,

Ultimate Champion of Tires
445 West Main Street, El Cajon, CA 92020

(619) 442-4373

They are listed in the Yellow Pages if you also need a map to them. They have a map link also.

Hows the drive shaft flang coming?

RobT2K
11-10-2007, 04:52 PM
Mike, I asked about 40's, but he didn't have any. He said they had 38's or 39's but I wasn't sure what rim size you had.

11-10-2007, 05:33 PM
Oh thanks Rob, I wonder if I call the guy and tell him what I am looking for, he would call me when available? 40X17 is what I run.

Drive shaft status: Nothing. Waiting for next check and day off. :). Need new brake lines, will go to Crown in Vista soon.
