Well, finally got around to installing my header today. One of the bolts were already broken on my stock manifold but fortunately the rest came off fine with no drama. Even the broken one backed out relatively easy with a left handed drill bit and an extractor. For the record this is my setup:

Doug Thorley Header (ceramic coated by Loudin's)
Magnaflow Cat
Flowmaster 40 Muffler
All in 2.25"

Here are some pics:

And a vid I took of what the open header sounds like:

I'll update after I get everything hooked up Monday.

Did you get the system finished yet? If so, how did it sound/look? I also have an '87 and am looking into the same type of system.

I did. I forgot to post back up here since there didn't seem to be much interest. But, now that there is I'll update.

I am happy with the system. It is a little louder than I anticipated but I have grown to really like it. My only complaint with sound is it's a bit ricey around 4K RPM but down low where I normally drive it has a nice rumble to it and that cool crackle when I let off the throttle :hillbill: .

I haven't been back under the truck to take pics yet but here is a vid that shows how it sounds pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=076ZXpwXIWw
