well I have some serious drivetrain warp/slop and i think its creating my rear driveshaft to bind just a little bit, which i think is causing my power issue but im not totally sure

these are from www.offroadsolutions.com which are about 449 for the mounts. which is out of my range for now, but from their notes it increases throttle response from less drivetrain warp? sounds like it could be possible, giving the driveshaft a little more time to react.

could use some opinions.

Unless you got the wrong size driveshaft fabricated, I can't see issues in your driveline that would cause power loss that the need of custom mounts will fix. There will be some loss due to the additional components added to your rig, when you did the 4WD conversion, namely the added overall weight and moving mass on the driveline.

yeah true, however i dont think my driveshaft is supposed to be tight while sitting in a parking lot right? supposed to move like an 1/8th of an inch. thats what im worried about. I think a heavier duty tcase mount would also help with that, the case can be moved by just pushing on it from underneath. crossmember doesnt move, the mount does though :/

actually it most likely will be tight, how much of the slip joint is showing?

Better yet, take a pic of the slip joint for us.

It is highly unlikely you have enough driveline wrap under load in that truck to mess with a properly set up rear shaft.

The problem with putting in significantly more solid mounts like that one plus or minus a FROR style crossmember is the in truck vibes you will feel since the drivetrain is not as isolated.

In double low I can wrap my driveline up enough to see the sticks twist up in the cab but I have never had rear driveline issues

And on a second reading, what is the idea of more time to react?

If you really want to bust someone up, what do you hit them with? The same velocity swing with a stick versus a wet noodle does more damage. Driveline wrap/slop robs SOME power but I cannot imagine it being that much.

ahh good point, its just something I read about the mounts, could be something as a selling factor.

my sticks will move too as well. I can get a pic of the slip joint still if anyone wants to see it.

Those are some sweet looking mounts. I like that they use more mounting bolts to the block than the stock mounts, not that I've ever heard of the bolts or blocks breaking before, but still nice. I've got my mounts chained down which is another way to go. http://thumb7.webshots.net/t/59/759/9/15/21/2065915210042310107ILFiqg_th.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2065915210042310107ILFiqg)

I think Mike mainly made those for guys going from a 22re to a 3.4l since they have to weld new perches to the frame anyway.
