Superstition 10 is being put on 18-20 January by San Diego 4 Wheelers Club. If you have been to one of these you know it is an awesome event. If you have not....well it just is. Trust us.

Although this Club and event are predominantly Jeepers, it is open to all makes and models. The SD crew usually has a pretty good showing at this event and other than some friendly Automaker Bashing it is not an issue.

This is the link: (thank you Mikey)
http://www.sd4wheel.com/

Camp Toyota always manages to have a good time but this event seems to bring out the mostest stupidestist in us. :shake: So come out and watch Christmas trees go up in flames, eat lots of Carne Asada, camp, drink, take lots of lame poser shots on a RTI ramp... oh yah and do some great wheelin.

"Hey I don't need a lecture from you!" LOL Man oh man what a Richard!

I will ask him. I wonder if he may go out there with us but not do any of the crawler trails. I should see him at work tomorrow if not for sure on Saturday. I am gonna take lots of pics of the cruise.

So when you go up to tech inspection I will low crawl up from the other side and put a rock in front of your pasenger rear tire so when you pull the e-brake it will look like it works to the inspector. LOL j/k.... no, but seriously how big a rock will I need?

So can we get a bomb digity cake from you again Josh? You know we worship your master cake skills! Shamelessly begs....please!

12-03-2007, 09:50 AM
Well, in all my lameness, I am out. Yeah, yeah, I know. I was really looking to forward to hitting a trail sometime in this decade.

I was asked/have an opprotunity to play the NAMM show which is the same weekend. I will be at the annaheim convention center from the 17th to the 20th. It's cool too, because I've been teaching Alea to play bass and this will be her first time playing in front of people (There are going to be alot there).

Superstition is by far one of the most fun weekends of the year for me, I'm not to stoked to miss it. My buddies will be bummed too, as this has kind of become our "Escape the ladies" weekend.

I was think 2008 would be different, but looks like I'm off to a crappy start.

I'll be sure to keep up my web-wheeling. http://www.gotfootage.com/thumb/A-258/A258-340.thumb.jpg

Just don't do any early runs when you get there Ryan ;)

I'm on the fence as to whether or not I need a winch for my new TJM. I was looking at the Superwinch w/Synthetic line for just under $800 on winchline.com
http://winchline.com/mcart/index.cgi?ID=214367698&PID=IT192&code=13

Any thoughts? I just don't think I will use it that much. I've gotten by this far without one. And I've only been winched once by someone else.

MIkey - thanks for the invite but unfortunately had been working this past week. Glad
to hear the day went well. I hear ya' about the cold - LG and I went to Sheep Canyon last weekend and woke up the first morning to find the dogs water bowl frozen over. The wheeling was killer and there is plenty of water at the final crossing of CC; it was coming to the top of my grille at one point.

Looking forward to Super10. THe Taco is getting a new timing belt/water pump this Wednesday. After that, she should be good for a while.

Cool. How long will you be up there? I'd like to start the spring BB trip so we all can get up

Let's get a tree count as well.....just for the health of it.

ecchamberlin
01-12-2008, 09:13 PM
I will be up there for as long as I can project out. At least 4 years. Hopefully 10 years though. I want to get Gabe into a school system up there and be able to let him stay in it for most of his school years if posible. Our dual military lifestyle is going to transfer some hardships onto his shoulders but I want to minimize that as much as I can. This is the best way I can do that. Just more options as far as command to command in the same area. This is not the case for me here in SD. My Seabee commuity is not very big here but up there it is. So I should be able to do 3 tours up there without moving again.

How come I always have to miss the biggest coolest parties and the best food?

My truck is right in the middle of a major face lift at the moment. Its getting the whole nine yards. Crossover steering, new front springs and shocks, axel gussets, longer driveline and hopefully 35's. There's a very slim chance that I might make it one of the days, but I wouldn't count on it. For those of us that cant go, I want to see a couple gigs of photos posted up when you get back!

*Warning* Hijack alert.
Also where have people gotten drivelines built in San Diego. I've got the whole long-spline kit but I don't feel like building it myself.

No shiznit. Looks like Luke is bouncing back quickly so we should be good.

For all newbies, make sure you check the website EC posted on the first page for the SD4Wheelers requirements for the runs.

48 hours and counting.

Dangit! My truck is so close to being done. Thinking 'bout pulling an all-nighter out in the driveway. That still prolly wont get me rolling in time. Just my luck I'll finish Saturday afternoon.
All I need now is build the driveline, weld in the shock mounts and get new tires. Of course a test drive might be in order too. :hillbill:

Hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be drinking a cold one in the cold desert.

Frank, you might have fun on Rabbits Foot or Lost Duchman(sp). I will probably do Tilted Table again, but the oposite way we did it last year. Just be prepaired to go really slow and make a lot of stops.

got wood?

I'm out. Going to Vegas with Delesa for the weekend before I deploy. Shouldn't be on deployment long though, so I will see about arranging a wheeling weekend in Feb.

I'm thinking lost dutchman. I have two thirds ready for regearing and a Truetrac awaiting installation but have not had time so I'm sorta stuck on on the easier stuff.

You punks have fun out there and dont break anything too big. I'm out for sure now. Everything will be done in about an hour here (i'm off work today) except for the drive shaft. The driveline shop said it will be done by Monday. Crap!!
Unless I wheel in 2wd, yea right. Anyone have an extra long travel driveline?

I wanted to thank everyone for the awesome grub last night. I wish I could have stayed the weekend just have too much wedding stuff to do. We gotta head back out there soon. It's very cool that the SD4wheelers spend so much time and money to keep our OHV areas open.
