So, I'm getting ready at some point here to slap in my second case. I'm looking at a 10 deg rotated adapter. Now, this seems great to me, since you gain a little over an inch doing that. HOWEVER, that gain is completely useless if you have to use the stock case mounts.

I've looked at FROR and I'm not wild about it. It moves all the twisting from the thick AL base to the very thin AL backing, and there is all sorts of lever action on the bushings, which seems to me would translate into more vibes on the road.

So, what are my options for an xmember that doesn't use the stock mounts, or the backplate? Or are there none?

I think 4byinnovations is making a tube crossmember? I dont know about mounting but it looks very stout.

then again you have Budbuilt as well. but thats what you have now correct?

That one won't work for me, as it requires a SAS

no worries.

Any other options? Looking like custom is my only way.

I am interested in the 4xinovations tcace mount, as it looks like it could be integrated into a sweet xmember.

We'll see what else comes up.

just curious, but why does the 4x inovations mount require a sas to fit? doesnt seem like that would affect it?

It says so directly on their ad. You cannot have the stock T-bar mounts on the truck for it to mount. I assume it has to do with the rear mounting legs of the xmember itself. I imagine they go directly to the frame where the tbar mounts sit.
