Tranny gave out :(

well on my drive to corpus christry my retarded transmission gave out.. the runner starts and i put it in gear.. but it goes no where.. even when reving it.. nothing happens.. ill be getting the tranny regeared since im already there.. 4.88's :) so.. thankfully something good came out of that.. but it still stinks..

Your tranny doesn't get regeared - your differentials do.

If you could find a junkyard trans, swapping it out isn't an enormous task for a couple of guys. A rebuild will be expensive.

Check the fluid level.

you get it to low and it wont build enough pressure to engage.

yea.. well a friend will be doing most of the work on the trans.. by the looks of things i am getting the 4.88's and yea i looked into just swapping a tranny from a junk yard one.. but my DAD finds it easier just to pay for someone to re-do the tranny.. and i wont be paying it all so its fine with me.. plus our friends work on the tranny will be guaranteed
