Hey guys, I have a 2001 SR5 4WD, I have the grey cloth seats my drivers seat is starting to kill my back, I don't have the running boards so the outside of the cushion is starting to wear down from getting in and out of the truck and I can feel the bar sticking into my back in the lower middle part of the backrest. So I feel like I'm leaning to the left and my back is starting to hurt. I've considered re-padding the seat, finding a new seat at a junkyard or....does anyone know if I can simply switch the drivers side and passenger seats are the brackets universal?? My passenger side seat is in far better condition and the foam is actually supportive. Any help would be appreciated

Last time I checked I don't think they are universal.
I have never seen a kit for the cloth seats but I know they sell recovering kits for leather seats if you wanted to go that route. Otherwise I think you'll be looking to find used seats off eBay or from a junkyard.

I know a buddy of mine dissasembled his seats at the hinged protion, where it tilts, remove the back of the seat from the bottom of the seat, and just swap those, that way the controls will still be on the correct sides of the seats. I dont know if this is possible in your application though.... Good Luck.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll probably try switching the seat backs right now and keep my eye on the junkyards for a new seat. Anyone know if the brackets are universal for all 3rd gen's or will I need to find another 2001 one to pull the seat from?
