Well i guess im in the right place, I just got back from an accident that my mom had with her car, she had a teen girl in a honda pull out in front of her and total both cars, my mom has some pretty bad whiplash but is ok for the most part.

anyways i hate to say it but its new car shopping time, shes only had the car for 7 years now. bought during christmas of 2000 brand new. 4 miles on the odo at the time. it had 103k now, 20 less then my 4runner which when i bought it had less then hers... no comment there.

i think for the impact and how it happened, im just glad she was in this car, seemed to do very well in keeping her safe.

yeah its good to know that the girl is alright as well, she was reallllllly upset, that intersection is about relatively 2.5 miles from my house and it is not a good intersection to pull out of.

something always happens during the holidays for us, back in 2003 i think it was, i had a wreck from loss of traction in a honda accord and ran off the road, near a cliff too. in the rain, this was also in the rain.

freakin curse or something

glad everyone was safe, and even happier than you were in town when it happened, so much less worry than when you are receiving broken information from 2k miles away!

very happy it turned out much better than it could have.

hah yeah i think that was before my time.

thanks guys. been looking at used rx330s online. Going to take her up there i think around this week to look at one, the other parties insurance was Allstate,

i dont know how much we can get for a 2000 rx300 with 103k but hopefully enough to put a nice down payment on a newer car for her. She will never be in a car though, wants a midsize SUV as she feels safer. (its a good size plus it gets pretty good gas mileage compared to others, around 23-27)

my bro just called, told him the gist of it, i forgot hes having to deal with the insurance company too due to hit & run on his truck.

but any advice on the second parties insurance company, speeding up the process to get them on the ball and send a claims person to the vehicle? I thought id get on the ball myself and start calling, and im gonna fight it since I want her to have another good car.

Just keep callin the other girls insurance. You could try and make something up to get them to get there earlier. Could your mom get a rental out of it? If so then get one (even if she doesn't need one), the more they wait the more they gotta pay on the rental (i don't know if it has any effect, but it seems logical that they would wanna hurry). I would find the value of her car. I'm sure they don't use blue book but it could help. Also, if all maintenance has been kept up, tell them that and that it ran great prior to the accident. You are essentially selling this adjuster your moms car, so rave about it.

Also, google "dealing with insurance adjusters" and read up. The different sites offer different tips and could be very handy. Good Luck with all of this.

took my mom to the insurance company, they said they are going to pay and send a claims guy out and not even talk to allstate until after the fact, and have allstate reimburse them. Hopefully if State Farm is as good as they have been in the past, they will give my mom the money she deserves and then Allstate can foot the bill back to them.

my mom is looking at a 07 RX350 right now, She doesnt think she can get a brand new 08 right now so thats the one we are looking at.

she looked at the BMW x3s and those ugly ass acura mdx or whatever they are.

I told her that the lexus she had for 103k didnt even give her a bit of problem, its a toyota basically so she needs to stick with the company.

thats the gist of it for now. ill let you know what happens from there on.

she went to the hospital yesterday thinking she had a broken rib, just really bad whiplash though and shes getting better. annoying the hell out of me but im still there for her.

bumpin

finally we now have gotten the damn money

at first we thought it may have been fixed and my mom was happy as she thinks he cant afford to get a new car now. well that idea was shot down and it was totalled out, but my mom is stubbborn, so she fought the company and got abot 6k more then the car is worth in perfect condition of all edmunds, kbb, and nada.

shes getting an 08 rx350 in white.
