good question

Ric, Runnerup, and probablly Nc994run were some inspiration for mine. Now im just trying to use other overland rigs for ideas to go a little more custom with the smaller things. like landrovers, cruisers etc.. roof racks and small things

i remember being very little and wanting a land rover defender, all outfitted with expedition gear.

now, kinda look at everyone's rigs and take what i can, what i like, and what i can modify to my own end. BruceTS's rig is what i would like mine to be in several years.

I'd have to say Slosurfer so far, seeing his rig is what made me decide to go the way I did. I'd also have to say axleike or tc on YT because they've done some crazy stuff in their basically stock height trucks.

I would say BruceTS has been a primary source of info/inspiration for mine so far. The idea was never to copy his monster although when I needed to replace my Xtra Cab Taco due to my kid situation I looked at his wheeling a 3rd gen as an option other than a Quad Cab Tacoma.

I have also watched doubledown and bighead's closely for ideas.

Wow, I feel special now. Haha.

I cant really say that i had much inspiration for building my rig. I bought the truck just over a year ago and started modding a month or so after. I guess building up vehicles is just what i do. It just comes natural to me. It seems that every vehicle i have built up, i get endless comments on. Right On.

since I'm still a newb and have not wheeled much I would say the entire SD crew has inspired me in one way or another.

No one person or rig in particular has inspired us. We would decide what mod we wanted to do next based on our experiences out on the trails.

However, the wonderful membership here at UY has definitely been a huge help in answering all of the questions that have come up while building up our rig!

Scott Brady and FlyingWil.

It's not that I lack imagination, it's just that they have already done everything that I would do... :hillbill:

Too many to count.

Ric, xonetruthcrewx, neliconcept, Bamachem, calrockx, Darren on TOF, and a lot more.

Darren is sort of the inspiration for stepdads runner once he breaks down and lets me have my way with it he he he.....

Who was the guy on YT who had a 3rd gen all built up in Colorado that he used for his professional photography trail rig? It was a blue-ish sport with dual ARBs....

That rig was a big help to me also. Was his name Darren? He had a web page that listed all his mods also. I Duno

Originally it was Wabbit:

I reached approximately this point, with minor differences based on preference (plus more damage since I wheel more than build :flipoff: )

After a lot of wheeling, a couple of flop/partial rolls, and lots of damage I decided to cut mine up more and although wabbit has been cutting his up, now I have have my eye on this awesome rig:

When I first started, I really liked the look and stance of PAHydrohead over at TOF. Cebby, is he still around? Now I have my own ideas and pull them from many different vehicles and builds.

Scott Brady, and Peter Parks have had the single biggest influences on my truck. A lot of it has been my imagination and where I saw improvements in some things others have done, but you can definitely look at my truck and see a little bit of Expeditions West, and Parks Off Road.

The biggest thing I've learned over the evolution of my rig is to do things the right way - the 1st time - don't compromise and cut corners. Ever.

That is great advice right there! I learned it the hard way also.

Jamie I thought you were on your way to socal? Not yet?

woow, thankx for the compliments all.. When I got my runner, I "knew" that Id be wheeling it, thats why we bought it, lol, but Darrens rig was my first insperation, then as I seen others, and theres way to many to name, I took ideas from alot of peoples rig, I knew that I wanted both custom bumpers, just to stand out a little, and to be alot stronger, then pretty much all of you guys helped out with all the other stuff, BS of wheels, GPS stuff, CB stuff, cargo box, maintenance, etc, etc, so Thank You
IMO, its places like this, that we all can share ideas, thoughts, and suggestions, (and able to vent from time to time, without getting our hands slapped, lol) thats helped me more than I can say.
so keep the ideas coming
