Odessa/Calico. 12-29-07. After Christmas run

Well I guess I'll be the first one to post up my pictures...

We met up at 8:30am and waited until 9am for a missing toyopnoy (what happened to you?). Members in attendance included Colin (xonetruthcrewx) and wifey, Gabe (Papa Smurf) and son, Bruce (Bruce TS) and Jenn (JnJ). We hit the start of the trail around 9:30, aired down and headed out on the Phillips Loop. I had never done this trail before, so it was exciting to explore some new terrain. Even with a few rocky spots, this trail took only 45 minutes to complete. Colin has all the photos from this portion of the run.

After Phillips Loop we headed over to Odessa Canyon. We played around in the earthen tunnels at the staging area.

After the tunnels we made our way back into Odessa Canyon. No one had any trouble making it up over the waterfalls. However, I think there may have been a little pucker factor going on when we reached the narrow spot on the ledge. I didn't get a picture at that spot...did anyone else? Here are some highlights:

For lunch we stopped on the ridge between Odessa and Bismark Canyons. we had a nice view and took a few group shots.

After lunch it was supposed to be my turn to lead, but I just got us lost so Colin resumed as our fearless leader. Bismark Canyon is where we saw all of the action.

2 good sized rocks blocked part of the trail at this waterfall making for some interesting maneuvering
