Anyone using these sites for business?

I recently got the 411 on these sites from a colleague and found them both to be pretty interesting.

Linkedin (http://www.linkedin.com) - is a business networking site

Guru.com (http://www.guru.com) - is a project bid site

I bit the bullet on Guru.com, but not Linkedin yet. Anyone using these sites for their business?

are you going to put your work on this site to try and get firm bids or are you looking for ppl to help you with projects?

I'm using Guru to bid on projects they have listed.

I've been visiting Guru for quit some time (about 2 years) and I've noticed it is still full of people looking to get something for nothing (at least in the Civil/Surveying category).

There are specific niches where a guy could make some money and not loose his :spank: to future liability, but when you're talking to a crowd that doesn't know fair market value, you can't expect much. :(

Linkedin is more like myspace/facebook for business individuals. It's good for networking with vendors etc :)
