If you're looking for a cheaper alternative than the "toyota" route look what I found:

JT Ring and Pinion (http://www.justdifferentials.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=22_37_484&zenid=e8dcad1bdf09a0f3a4c2a48e4ee00825)

FINALLY! 4.88 RATIO RING & PINION SET FITS NEW TOYOTA 8" IFS CLAMSHELL STYLE DIFFERENTIAL FOUND IN THE FRONT OF 07+ FJ CRUISER, 03+ 4RUNNER, 05+ TACOMA, 03+ LEXUS GX470, & LC PRADO 120 SERIES. FITS 3.90 & UP CARRIER. MODELS WITH 3.73 WILL REQUIRE NEW CARRIER, OR ARBRD111 AIR LOCKER.

The best part is that it's a faction of the cost of the factory ones. If you want to upgrade to 4.88 go get em! Rears are the same as the previous version version (3rd gen) so eat your heart out :D

What size tires would be appropriate for 4.88s?

For owners with the stock gearing of 3.73's (either the v8 or the 05+v6's) you'll prob want to just get 4.56's after you upgrade your tires to 35's. If you decide to get 4.88's, I think you'll end up losing your top end highway driving gearing because of the gearing ratio.

For the 03-04 v6's that has the 3.93 stock gearing, I'm not sure which is best.

Personally speaking I still think 4.88 is a bit much and 4.56 is probably your best bet regardless.

Looks like they updated their site.

Try the link again. I just changed it.

If it doesn't work just go to the following categories:

Front Gear
Ring and Pinion -> Toyota -> 8" IFS Clamshell (FJ, 05+ Taco)

Don't forget that you still need to order the following:

FRONT: Either an ARB Air Locker or replace the front carrier. (Easier if you just get the air locker fyi)

REAR: Just order the Yukon Gears 4.56 and the Master Install Kit. Also need the pinion flange too.

HUH? Why would I need to replace the front carrier? According to the website it says replace the front carrier if you currntly have 3.90 or 4.10. V8 4th gens have 3.73. Am I missing something?

Btw you'll want to add the front locker though :) Since it's gonna come apart anyway :D
