View Full Version : how hard is it to pull fuel injectors ???

any one know of a write up or any help. I have a 22 RTE :thumbup:

Below is a link to an FSM for a '93 22RE. Should be very similar and give you an idea of how to do it.

It looks pretty straight forward. I'll see if I can dig one up of 22RTE.

pretty easy...just make sure you have replacement o-rings handy for them when you do pull them

Like said before, have the o-rings ready. Take the intake off ! It is sometimes harder to get the wire keepers off then getting the injector out. The wire keepers that hold wiring connector are spring steel therefore they like to go flying and disappear. You should also relieve your fuel pressure by disconnecting the fuel pump and turning over your engine a few times. Its been a while since I had a 22re so if anyone else has some pointers chime in.

Get a book. It's not a big deal, I personaly like pictures. As far as relieving the pressure just disconnect the wiring at the tank and turn it over a few times. You have to take the intake off to get the fuel rail off (which sandwiches the injectors to the head "if I remember right"). from there its just wiggle em' out. No write-up sorry!
